Rezvani Motors Launches ‘Quick Shift’ Simulated Manual for Ferrari Models

Rezvani Motors has introduced its own simulated manual transmission system called “Quick Shift” for select Ferrari models. This new setup aims to recreate the manual shifting experience without a clutch pedal, offering Ferrari owners an alternative to the recent official Ferrari “Manuale” system.

What is Quick Shift?

Rezvani’s Quick Shift is an electronic simulated manual gearbox developed in collaboration with Italy’s Studio Carrozzi. It is currently offered for the Ferrari 458, 488, and the 12Cilindri supercars. The company plans to extend this technology to certain Lamborghini models and potentially the Corvette ZR1 in the future.

  • The system replaces the standard dual-clutch automatic mode with a full manual shift experience.
  • There is no clutch pedal, so stalling is impossible.
  • Shift lever operates electronically without a physical connection to the transmission.
  • Owners can keep their factory paddle shifters if they wish.

How Does It Work?

Quick Shift uses electronic signals to control the gearbox, communicating directly with the car’s ECU. Unlike a traditional manual, the actual selected gear does not always match the lever’s position. Instead, the system chooses the appropriate gear based on speed and shift input.

  • Gear changes are fast and precise, with no automatic upshifting at redline.
  • The car can hold revs at the limiter until the driver shifts manually.
  • If needed, the system can switch to first gear automatically from a stop.

Installation and Cost

The Quick Shift system can be installed without significant mechanical changes and maintains all factory safety and electronic features. Rezvani says the upgrade is reversible, meaning the car can be returned to its original state if desired.

  • Installation does not require adding a clutch pedal or mechanical linkage modifications.
  • The full conversion costs $25,000, excluding the donor car.
  • By comparison, Ferrari’s factory manual option reportedly costs around €650,000.

Why It Matters

As more drivers show interest in manual gearboxes, simulated manual systems like Rezvani’s Quick Shift offer a compelling alternative. While it can’t replicate every aspect of a true manual, it delivers fast, driver-controlled shifts without the risk of stalling. For Ferrari fans wanting a hands-on experience, this system could be an attractive upgrade without committing to full factory options or conversions.
