Alfa Romeo Sees Strong Sales Growth and Expands Globally in First Half of 2026

Alfa Romeo has reported solid growth in the first half of 2026, with sales rising significantly in key markets such as the UK, Japan, and Mexico. The brand continues to expand its global presence, now reaching 70 countries, led by strong demand for the new Alfa Romeo Junior and maintaining solid performance from core models like the Tonale, Stelvio, and Giulia.

Sales Performance by Region

Alfa Romeo achieved notable sales increases across several countries and regions in early 2026:

  • United Kingdom sales up 24%
  • Japan registrations nearly doubled, rising 95%
  • Asian region overall up by 50%
  • Mexico sales surged 90%, driven by the launch of the Junior model
  • Italy, France, and Germany remain the top three European markets

Alfa Romeo Junior Leads the Lineup

The Alfa Romeo Junior compact sports car has emerged as the brand’s best-selling model, now available in 45 countries. The Junior offers hybrid and electric versions, with 16% of sales coming from battery electric vehicles (BEVs). The model’s international expansion into markets like Mexico, Singapore, and Taiwan has helped grow Alfa Romeo’s footprint worldwide.

Steady Demand for Core Models and Special Editions

Core models such as the Tonale, Stelvio, and Giulia continue to contribute strongly to Alfa Romeo’s sales. The Tonale’s 1.5-liter hybrid and 1.6-liter diesel engines are popular choices. High-performance Quadrifoglio versions of Giulia and Stelvio make up about 7% of total sales.

Exclusive few-off editions also performed well, with all ten units of the Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa and all 33 units of the new 33 Stradale sold out quickly. Deliveries for these limited models are underway in Europe and the US.

Brand Activities and Heritage Celebrations

Alfa Romeo has been active in major international events, including the Brussels and New York Motor Shows, the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, and the iconic 1000 Miglia race. The brand celebrated 75 years of collaboration with the Carabinieri and marked anniversaries including 116 years of Alfa Romeo’s founding and 50 years of its museum in Arese.

Why It Matters

Alfa Romeo’s growth in diverse global markets shows the brand’s ability to attract new customers while staying true to its sporty and innovative roots. The success of the Junior model and steady sales of core vehicles suggest Alfa Romeo is well positioned for continued expansion worldwide. Active engagement in heritage and high-profile events reinforces its strong emotional connection with fans and customers.
