Common questions
How do I convert bar to psi?
Multiply bar by 14.5038. 2.2 bar, a common passenger-car tire pressure, is 31.91 psi. The bar to psi and psi to bar tools do this both ways.
What tire size difference is safe?
A different tire is usually acceptable when overall diameter stays within 3% of the original. That keeps the speedometer, gearing, and clearance close. Load index and speed rating still need to match or exceed the original.
How do I convert mpg to L/100 km?
US mpg converts as 235.21 divided by the mpg figure. UK mpg uses 282.48. The fuel calculator also accepts km/L and can turn a distance plus fuel used into all four units.
Does a larger tire change the speedometer?
Yes. A taller tire travels farther per revolution, so actual speed is higher than the speedometer shows. The tire size calculator shows that difference at an indicated 100 km/h.
