Alfa Romeo has unveiled the Cuorerosso concept at the Paris Motor Show, offering a glimpse into the future direction of its design and powertrains. This four-door, 4.7-meter-long prototype features a 2.9-litre V6 hybrid engine with all-wheel drive, signaling a move toward sportier, hybrid-powered models for Alfa Romeo’s lineup, including the next Giulia, Giulietta, and the Tonale replacement.
Radical Styling Signals New Alfa Romeo Design Language
The Cuorerosso, which means “red heart,” is not a production car but a design manifesto. Its styling channels Alfa Romeo’s racing heritage while introducing a modern, aggressive look. The front end is dominated by the signature triangular “Scudetto” grille, flanked by very slim headlights for a sharp, intense expression. Along the side, the car has a wedge shape with distinctive rotor-style wheels.
The rear design pulls inspiration from the classic 8C Competizione, featuring round taillights, a large spoiler, and vertically positioned dual exhausts integrated into the bumper. The overall stance recalls a race car while keeping a sense of Italian elegance.

Dimensions and Interior Reflect Sporty Focus
Measuring 4.70 meters long, 1.98 meters wide, and 1.33 meters tall, with a 2.93-meter wheelbase, the Cuorerosso sits within the sporty midsize sedan category. These dimensions suggest a future size benchmark for Alfa Romeo’s upcoming models. Unusually for a concept, the company has revealed its weight as exactly 1,750 kilograms—a nod to the historic 1750 Berlina model and its engine displacement tradition.
Inside, the Cuorerosso goes minimalist but pays tribute to Alfa Romeo’s past, particularly the 33 Stradale from 1967. Access is through rear-hinged doors. The cockpit centers on a large instrument display consisting of two overlapping digital screens that can show either one or two gauges depending on driver preference. The three-spoke steering wheel hosts the Alfa DNA drive mode selector. Controls are arranged to keep the driver engaged with the road while offering clear access to key functions.

Hybrid Powertrain Hints at Future Alfa Romeo Performance
The prototype uses a 2.9-litre V6 hybrid setup, combining Alfa Romeo’s traditional combustion engine with electric assistance—though not as a plug-in hybrid. It uses all-wheel drive under the Q4 system, supported by a carbon-fiber propshaft and a conventional automatic transmission.
While Alfa Romeo has not shared specific power figures, this hybrid V6 builds on the performance heritage of the existing Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio models. The combination of hybrid tech and rear-biased all-wheel drive suggests the brand is focusing on balancing usability with driving excitement. The final production versions of these systems could arrive first in the new Giulia and later in other models like the Giulietta and Tonale successor.

‘Bellezza Necessaria’ Philosophy Guides the Future
Alfa Romeo describes its approach as “Bellezza Necessaria,” or “necessary beauty,” emphasizing that driving pleasure and striking design remain key. The Cuorerosso’s styling and technology demonstrate how this philosophy will shape the brand’s next chapter. With the current range shrinking and important models like the Giulia and Stelvio replacements delayed, the Cuorerosso points to a future where Alfa Romeo will blend tradition with hybrid technology and new design boldness.
More details about how these ideas will translate into production vehicles are expected as Alfa Romeo moves closer to launching its next-generation models.
