Hyundai has introduced the all-electric STARIA Cargo van at the Paris Motor Show. This model aims to compete in the light electric van segment, standing out with an advanced 800-volt architecture and a claimed range of 450 kilometres based on WLTP tests.
Large Cargo Space and Practical Features
The STARIA Cargo shares its modern design with the STARIA passenger van but adapts it for commercial use. It features panelled sides and a pair of rear swinging doors instead of a single large tailgate. Measuring 5,253 mm long, 1,997 mm wide, and 2,026 mm tall, it offers a generous cargo area of 5.46 cubic metres. The load space dimensions – 2,500 mm long, 1,640 mm wide, and 1,436 mm high – allow for carrying up to three European pallets.
Access is improved by dual sliding doors on both sides, each 870 mm wide, and a low loading floor at 573 mm height. The van also offers a useful payload of 1,040 kg and a towing capacity of 2,000 kg, which can be handled even when fully loaded.

Electric Powertrain and Fast Charging
At the heart of the STARIA Cargo is a 160 kW (218 hp) electric motor powering the front wheels. It draws energy from an 84 kWh gross (80 kWh usable) lithium-ion battery. The van’s WLTP range is rated at 450 kilometres.
The star feature is its 800-volt electrical system that supports fast charging. According to Hyundai, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes using a suitable high-power DC charger.

Cabin Layout and Safety Equipment
The driver’s area includes a single seat, with a bench for two passengers beside it. The dashboard integrates a digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen. Features like remote vehicle management, charge status monitoring, and climate programming are accessible through the screen.
Safety technology called “Hyundai SmartSense” comes standard. It includes front collision prevention, lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, blind spot detection, a rearview camera, and parking sensors front and rear.
The van also offers Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability at 3.5 kW through both an interior and exterior power outlet. This allows drivers to plug in tools or other equipment directly to the vehicle’s battery.

Launch Timing and Market Availability
Hyundai plans to begin sales of the STARIA Cargo in the second half of 2026, with availability varying by market. Pricing details for Spain or other regions have not yet been announced. The company offers a three-year warranty and is working with specialist companies to provide customised and standardised van conversions, which will be sold through its dealer network in the future.
