Stellantis has announced a recall affecting more than 848,000 vehicles in the United States due to a software problem that can cause the rearview camera image to fail to appear. The recall mainly covers 2026 model-year Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles, as well as some 2027 models.
Details of the Recall and Affected Models
The issue arises from an infotainment system error that may prevent the camera view from displaying when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. While no crashes or injuries have been reported, the missing camera image reduces driver visibility during low-speed maneuvers such as parking.
The recall includes 2026 and 2027 Chrysler Pacifica, Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid, and Voyager models. Dodge’s 2026 and 2027 Charger is also affected. Jeep has a broad presence in the recall with 2026 Cherokee, Compass, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L, Wrangler, Grand Wagoneer, and Grand Wagoneer L models involved. On the Ram side, affected vehicles are the 2026 1500 and 2500 pickups, as well as the ProMaster and ProMaster EV commercial vans.
Global Scope and Fix Procedure
The recall extends beyond the US, including about 82,869 vehicles in Canada, 7,969 in Mexico, and 15,736 across other markets. Altogether, more than 955,000 vehicles worldwide are affected.
Stellantis plans to begin notifying owners in September. The fix will be delivered mainly via an over-the-air (OTA) software update. When ready, affected vehicles will show a notification on their infotainment display, allowing owners to start the update without needing to visit a dealership. No hardware replacement is necessary for this repair.
Safety Advice Until Update Installation
Stellantis advises owners to continue using the rearview and side mirrors to check surroundings carefully when backing up until the software update is installed. Since the problem does not impact the vehicle’s basic driving functions, owners are not required to stop using their vehicles during the recall period.

Using OTA updates helps manage this large-scale recall more efficiently, reducing the need for dealership visits. Owners should still verify that the rearview camera is working properly each time they reverse until the update is completed.
