Peugeot Reveals RCZ Vision Concept with 500 hp Electric Powertrain

Peugeot has introduced the RCZ Vision, a new electric concept that pays tribute to the iconic RCZ sports car from over a decade ago. Unveiled ahead of the Paris Motor Show 2026, the futuristic coupe features a 500 hp electric powertrain paired with a high-voltage 1,000-volt architecture. The RCZ Vision preview hints at upcoming design and technology trends for Peugeot’s future models.

Modern Design Takes Inspiration from the Classic RCZ

The RCZ Vision showcases Peugeot’s new “Feline Future” design language, emphasising boldness, elegance, and strength. It combines the muscular stance of a sports coupe with aerodynamic details aimed at efficiency. Notable exterior elements include large forged aluminium wheels—21 inches front and 22 inches rear—and a double-bubble roof that nods to the original RCZ’s signature silhouette.

At the front, the car features a fresh take on Peugeot’s three-claw lighting signature, echoing themes from the Peugeot Concept 6 revealed earlier this year. The rear is dominated by illuminated “PEUGEOT” lettering and distinctive tail lights, reinforcing a modern yet familiar look.

Futuristic Cabin with New i-Cockpit and Advanced Controls

Inside, the RCZ Vision evolves Peugeot’s long-standing i-Cockpit design. It sports a Hypersquare steering wheel, which is confirmed to be the same type planned for the upcoming electric Peugeot 208 slated for 2027. Uniquely shaped with control rings, the wheel allows drivers to operate key functions without removing their hands.

The cockpit incorporates transparent MicroLED displays—a digital instrument cluster and multimedia screen—offering an expanded field of view and a sleek, floating appearance angled towards the driver. This is combined with steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire systems, replacing traditional mechanical linkages with electronic controls to enhance driving precision.

The cabin layout is inspired by grand tourers, featuring four seats and materials like recycled leather upholstery, highlighting Peugeot’s move towards sustainability.

Electric Powertrain Promises Strong Performance and Fast Charging

Built on Stellantis’ STLA One platform, the RCZ Vision concept houses a compact and thin 110 mm battery enabling a WLTP-rated range of up to 600 km. Its 500 hp electric motor drives the car with power that places it significantly above Peugeot’s current sportier models.

The 1,000-volt electrical setup allows ultra-fast charging, replenishing battery charge from 10% to 80% in about 10 minutes. Its reported average energy consumption stands at 11.5 kWh per 100 km, though Peugeot has not released full technical specifications yet.

Production Version Status Remains Unclear

Peugeot has not officially confirmed plans to turn the RCZ Vision into a production model. For now, it mainly serves as a glimpse of the brand’s future direction in both design and technology, including features expected in the next-generation Peugeot 208 electric hatchback.

More details on whether a road-ready electric RCZ will materialise are expected closer to the Paris show, but the concept already signals Peugeot’s ambitions to combine sportive character with electric innovation.
