At the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Maserati revealed the new Project GT4 racing car based on the GranTurismo. Alongside this track-focused model, the brand showcased refreshed versions of the GranTurismo, GranCabrio, and Grecale in Trofeo trim with new design updates.

Project GT4: Maserati’s New Racer

The Project GT4, making its world debut at Goodwood, is a racing car developed from the latest GranTurismo. Maserati worked with Maserati Corse and test driver Andrea Bertolini to create this track-focused machine, which will debut on race circuits in 2028.

  • Powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo Nettuno V6 with over 700 hp
  • Rear-wheel drive only, designed for closed-wheel GT2 competition
  • Weight reduced by about 400 kg compared to the road car
  • Features a roll cage, racing seat, and FIA-approved fuel tank
  • Upgraded suspension, brakes, and 18-inch wheels tailored for track use
  • Dashboard revised for racing while retaining parts of the original design
  • Special “100 Trident” livery celebrating Maserati’s centenary badge

Updated Road Models: GranTurismo, GranCabrio, and Grecale Trofeo

Maserati also highlighted fresh Trofeo sub-models of its key road cars at Goodwood. Each has exclusive colors and new design cues that build on the brand’s evolving style direction.

  • GranTurismo in matte Green Jupiter, GranCabrio in Blu Emozione, Grecale in Orange Devil
  • All use the 3.0-litre Nettuno V6 with 590 hp and 650 Nm torque
  • Trofeo models feature sports exhausts, all-wheel drive, and adjustable air suspension
  • GranTurismo and GranCabrio reach speeds beyond 320 km/h
  • Grecale’s six-cylinder engine includes Formula 1-derived pre-chamber combustion for balance between performance and practicality

Additional Maserati Highlights at Goodwood

In the Supercar Paddock, Maserati displayed the MCPURA Cielo, GT2 Stradale, and MCXtrema. The MCXtrema, limited to 62 units, packs 740 hp from its twin-turbo V6 and participated in the iconic Goodwood hillclimb timed shootout wearing a striking yellow-and-blue Modena livery.

Why It Matters

Maserati’s Goodwood showcase underscores the brand’s strong commitment to both high-performance road cars and competitive motorsport. The Project GT4 signals a serious step into GT racing, while updated GranTurismo and Grecale models continue to sharpen Maserati’s sports appeal. Fans and potential buyers can expect these new offerings on tracks and streets soon, starting with the Project GT4’s 2028 race debut.
