Lepas Unveils Aura Concept, Hinting at Future Electric Compact Hatchbacks

Lepas, a young automotive brand linked to Omoda and Jaecoo, has revealed its first global concept car called the Aura Concept. Debuted at the 2026 International User Summit during the Global Elegant Lifestyle Week organized by Chery Group, this concept preview signals Lepas’ upcoming design direction and product expansion.

Futuristic Design Signals Hatchback Focus

The Aura Concept stands out with a sleek, modern look focused on a compact, three-door hatchback shape. It carries Lepas’ updated “Next-Generation Leopard Aesthetics” design language, evolving from the styles seen in current models. The front features sharp, narrow headlights and a large customizable screen that can display animations or messages. The rear lights also appear as screens, adding to the high-tech appearance.

Uncertain Powertrain, But Electric Future Possible

No official details about the Aura Concept’s mechanical setup have been shared. Given Lepas’ recent direction and industry trends, it’s reasonable to think the concept might be an electric vehicle or at least a battery-electric model. Lepas has not commented on whether the Aura will reach production, but it could potentially compete against models like the MG4 or BYD Dolphin if it does.

Lepas Plans to Expand Its Lineup Both Upmarket and Affordable

Currently, Lepas sells only one model in Spain—the Lepas L8 plug-in hybrid. However, the brand recently introduced the L4 and L6, set to join the lineup soon. At the Aura Concept’s debut, Lepas confirmed it is working on further models aimed at broadening its range both with more affordable entries and upscale vehicles, signaling a fast-growing product strategy.

The Aura Concept sets a new style tone while Lepas prepares for a wider, more diverse offering in the near future.
