Jeep is planning to bring back the Renegade SUV to the European market with a completely new generation before 2030. The announcement ends uncertainty about the model that left the market without a direct replacement, as the Avenger does not fill its gap. The new Renegade will be larger and include hybrid and electric powertrains.
New Design Points to a Tougher, Larger SUV
The upcoming Jeep Renegade will grow to about 4.3 metres in length, making it the bigger of Jeep’s two B-segment SUVs in Europe. Early unofficial images show a fresh look with a more rugged and angular style. The signature seven-slot grille remains, but the front lights have been reworked into a two-level design: a slim light strip on top and main headlights below. The hood is noticeably flatter compared to the previous model.
The side profile appears more traditional and less rounded, which fits Jeep’s goal of a tougher, more off-road capable style. The rear of the new Renegade is still mostly hidden but hints at slim taillights and a cleaner tailgate layout. Large, sharply defined wheel arches add to the SUV’s robust stance.

Modular Platform Enables Hybrid, Plug-in, and Electric Versions
The new Renegade will be built on Stellantis’ “STLA One” modular platform engineered to support multiple powertrains. Jeep confirmed the SUV will arrive with hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric options. All-wheel drive will also be available, which keeps the model competitive in its class.
This electrified lineup aligns with Jeep’s broader strategy revealed at the Paris Motor Show, which aims to expand its European SUV range to six models by 2030, combining different platforms and powertrains to meet varied customer needs.

Renegade’s Market Role and Launch Timeline
Since its 2014 debut, the Renegade sold more than 610,000 units in Europe, proving its importance for Jeep. The upcoming model will bridge the space between the smaller Avenger and the larger Compass, targeting buyers who want a more traditional Jeep SUV with modern electrification.
The new Renegade is expected to appear by mid-2028, with a market launch closer to 2029. Jeep’s revival of this nameplate marks a clear effort to reclaim its position in Europe’s competitive compact SUV segment.
