Stellantis Launches New Podcast Featuring Chief Designer Ralph Gilles

Stellantis is stepping into the world of podcasts with a new series led by its head of design, Ralph Gilles. The show, titled ‘Car Concepts with Ralph Gilles’, explores the journey from an initial car sketch to a finished vehicle, whether a concept or a production model.

Behind the Scenes of Car Design

The podcast will have a first season of nine episodes, each lasting about 30 minutes. Gilles discusses how designs evolve, sharing stories and insights from designers, engineers, and key figures in the automotive industry. The episodes are recorded in Detroit at Stellantis’s Conner Avenue plant, highlighting the company’s North American focus.

Ralph Gilles is well known not just as a designer but also for his past leadership roles, including president and CEO of Dodge and the SRT performance division. His background includes racing experience and judging car shows, giving him a broad perspective on car culture.

Guests from Across the Industry

The podcast features a range of guests, both from inside Stellantis and the wider automotive world. Confirmed participants include Scott Kruger, Stellantis’s North American design chief, Gilles Vidal, head of European design, TV presenter Cristy Lee, and content creator Garrett Reed.

Notably, the series also includes conversations with industry legends such as Gordon Wagener, former chief designer at Mercedes, and Bob Lutz, who has held high-ranking roles at Chrysler, GM, Ford, and BMW.

A Casual Take on Car Culture

Gilles aims to create a relaxed atmosphere similar to chatting with friends in a garage. He wants the podcast to capture the passion and stories behind car design and innovation, focusing on the people as much as the products.

The first episode is available now on Stellantis North America’s YouTube channel, with more guest announcements expected in the coming weeks.
