Mercedes-AMG is preparing to launch an all-new electric SUV variant of its AMG GT lineup. While official images have not yet been released, digital artist Marian Valentin Cilibeanu has shared detailed CGI renderings that offer a clear view of what the production model might look like. The SUV version is expected to debut in Stuttgart on October 17, 2026, with sales likely starting in early 2027.
New SUV Adds a High-Riding Option to the AMG GT Family
The Mercedes-AMG GT SUV will join the existing four-door coupe in the AMG GT series, marking AMG’s first fully electric SUV built from the ground up. This model is said to be based on the new AMG.EA platform, designed to support high-performance electric vehicles for the brand’s future. The SUV will compete with premium rivals such as the Bentley Torcal and the electric Porsche Cayenne.

Rendered Design Shows a Cleaner, More Practical Look
The CGI images by Cilibeanu showcase a less controversial design compared to the often debated AMG GT 4-Door coupe. The SUV’s front end features the new electric AMG grille positioned higher than the coupe’s, integrating a mix of vertical LED daytime running lights surrounding a larger Mercedes star, paired with a full-width LED light bar. This design gives the vehicle a distinctive look while hinting at a more traditional bumper layout suited for an SUV.
The render only partially reveals the profile, suggesting the SUV will maintain practicality and behavior expected from a luxury crossover. Though the rear view remains unseen, the model’s proportions and aggressive stance suggest AMG aims for a balanced blend of sportiness and usability.

Expected Launch and Market Outlook
Reports indicate that Mercedes-AMG will officially present the SUV during an event in Stuttgart in mid-October. The new electric SUV is expected to reach dealerships early next year, extending AMG’s push into the electric performance segment. While official powertrain details remain unconfirmed, industry trends and AMG’s history suggest high output figures and advanced 800-volt electrical architecture similar to rivals.
With this model, Mercedes-AMG looks to cement its position in the luxury high-performance electric SUV market, taking on established and emerging competitors.
More details about specifications and pricing are expected closer to the official launch event.
