Jeep has released a short video teaser showing the 2027 Cherokee Trailhawk tackling tough terrain. The new Trailhawk looks ready to go up against the Ford Bronco Raptor with its off-road chops, although its power output is noticeably lower.
Off-Road Focus with Hybrid Power
The teaser highlights the 2027 Cherokee Trailhawk driving over rocks, sand dunes, and steep trails. Jeep is clearly emphasizing the model’s rugged abilities, including improved approach and departure angles and the use of steel skid plates for added protection.
The Trailhawk will use Jeep’s Active Drive 4×4 system with a rear locking differential and all-terrain tires. This setup is designed to help it perform well in challenging off-road situations.
Power and Pricing Compared to Bronco Raptor
Unlike the Bronco Raptor’s powerful 3.0-liter V6 engine with 418 horsepower, the Cherokee Trailhawk is expected to have a hybrid powertrain producing around 210 horsepower and 230 pound-feet of torque. This is almost half the power, so it won’t match the Bronco in speed or outright muscle.
However, Jeep seems to be aiming more for off-road capability and versatility over raw power. Pricing for the Trailhawk is estimated around $50,000, which sits above the predicted $37,000 base price of the standard Cherokee. This would place the Trailhawk as the most expensive trim, edging above the current Overland model.
The Cherokee, including the Trailhawk, continues to be assembled at the Stellantis Toluca Plant in Mexico, though the next-generation Cherokee will see changes in production location and design.
Launch Timeline
The new Cherokee Trailhawk will debut officially in the next few weeks and is expected to reach dealerships early in 2027. More detailed specifications will likely become available at that time.
