The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is gearing up for its final production year in 2027. A recent prototype spotted on the road signals that the high-performance SUV will receive technical updates before production ends, without major design changes.
Updates Focused on Compliance and Performance
The prototype of the 2027 Stelvio Quadrifoglio shows no camouflage, revealing the familiar exterior with its signature four exhaust tips intact. This suggests Alfa Romeo is keeping the current look for the model’s last edition. Reports indicate that the updates may focus on engine tuning and emissions to meet upcoming Euro 7 rules, though Alfa Romeo has not officially confirmed these details.
The Stelvio Quadrifoglio continues with its 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, delivering 520 hp and paired with Q4 all-wheel drive. This powertrain was recently reintroduced in Europe for the 2026 model year and is expected to stay for the final run.
End of an Era and Uncertain Future
The Stelvio first arrived in 2016, launching Alfa Romeo into the SUV market with a distinct platform shared with the Giulia sedan. Over the years, its V6 engine has set a performance standard in its class. Production will continue at Alfa Romeo’s Cassino plant through the end of 2027, alongside the Giulia.
Looking ahead, the brand has postponed previous plans for a new Stelvio generation based on Stellantis’s STLA Large platform. Instead, Alfa Romeo is exploring multiple options, including possible collaborations with other manufacturers.
