Renault Launches ‘futuREady’ Plan: A New Strategy for 2030 and Beyond

Marking the launch of Renault Group’s new futuREady strategic plan, the Renault brand has unveiled the three key levers that will drive its global growth and electrification offensive between now and 2030.

According to Fabrice Cambolive, CEO of the Renault brand, the ambition is clear: “Strengthen our European leadership, accelerate electrification, and go faster internationally to confirm Renault as the number one French automotive brand worldwide.”

The 2030 Vision: Core Objectives

Renault is targeting substantial growth over the next few years, backed by the launch of 26 new products globally. Here is a breakdown of the brand’s primary goals for the end of the decade:

Strategic Metric2030 Target
Global Sales VolumeOver 2 million vehicles
International Sales Mix50% of total sales generated outside Europe
Electrification (Europe)100% of sales to be electrified
Electrification (Global)50% of sales outside Europe to be electrified
New Model Launches12 in Europe, 14 on International markets

1. Strengthening Market Positions in Europe

In Europe, Renault plans to launch 12 new models by 2030, offering the right technology for each specific market.

  • Segments A & B: Renault will build upon its historic leadership with complementary new releases, including the New Clio, Renault 5 E-Tech electric, Renault 4 E-Tech electric, and the Twingo E-Tech electric.
  • Segments C & D: Currently accounting for 30% of sales, Renault is preparing a “second wave” of vehicles in these segments. This will include a continuous stream of new-generation electric and hybrid models designed to improve competitiveness and drive value.

2. Deploying Electrification Across the Range

The hybrid powertrain remains a cornerstone of the European range, and Renault has confirmed it will maintain its highly efficient full hybrid E-Tech offering well beyond 2030. However, all-electric vehicles remain the heart of the strategy:

The RGEV Medium 2.0 Platform

The next generation of C and D segment vehicles will be built on the new RGEV medium 2.0 electric platform. Designed specifically for European markets, it offers modular versatility and cutting-edge 800V architecture for ultra-fast charging. It will feature three configurations:

  1. 100% Electric: Up to 750 km WLTP range.
  2. 4×4 Electric: Towing capacity of up to 2 tonnes.
  3. Range Extender: Increasing the total driving range to a massive 1,400 km.

Commercial Vehicles

Renault is also stepping up electrification for its commercial fleet. The upcoming Trafic van E-Tech electric will be the brand’s first Software Defined Vehicle (SDV). Equipped with 800V technology, it will offer fast charging and a range of up to 450 km.

Renault R-Space Lab: Reinventing ‘Voitures à Vivre’

To explore the future of in-car experiences, Renault has introduced the R-Space Lab. Developed by the brand’s Futurama innovation laboratory, it is not a production model, but an innovation demonstrator that highlights Renault’s DNA.

  • High-Tech Cockpit: Features a curved openR panorama screen that spans the entire dashboard. The compact steering wheel utilizes steer-by-wire technology, and an integrated in-car AI acts as a Safety Coach and personalized driving assistant.
  • Modular Interior: Despite a compact footprint (4.5m long, 1.5m tall), the cabin features an ingenious multifunction glovebox, a sliding passenger seat, and three identical, reclining rear seats. The flat floor plan and 90° opening rear doors ensure maximum modularity.
  • Exceptional Light: Frameless doors, slimline pillars, and a fully glazed roof bathe the cabin in natural light, making the interior feel incredibly spacious.

3. Stepping Up the International Offensive

While Europe transitions fully to electric, Renault sees immense growth potential internationally. In 2025, Renault sold 620,000 vehicles outside Europe (an 11% YoY increase). Now, the brand is preparing to launch 14 new models globally by leveraging its five core hubs: Morocco, Türkiye, Latin America, South Korea, and India.

Using shared architectures like the GEA (Geely Electric Architecture) multi-energy platform, Renault will adapt global vehicles to specific regional needs.

The Bridger Concept: A Symbol of Global Ambition

Leading this international charge is the new Bridger Concept, a sub-4-meter SUV initially destined for the rapidly growing Indian market.
