Jeep is preparing a significant expansion of its lineup in Europe, aiming to offer six SUV models by 2030. This plan goes beyond the current Avenger and Compass models to include new compact SUVs, the upcoming electric Recon, and a larger model developed with China’s Dongfeng Motor.
New Models and Platform Strategy
Currently, Jeep sells the Avenger and Compass in Europe. The Avenger, designed specifically for Europe, has received over 280,000 orders with electrified versions making up 60% of sales. It offers a range of gasoline, hybrid, and electric powertrains. Meanwhile, the Compass targets the C-segment with multiple electrified options, including plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions based on the STLA Medium platform.
The expansion will introduce two additional compact SUVs positioned between the Avenger and Compass. These will use Jeep’s new STLA One platform, which supports various vehicle sizes and powertrains. Jeep has described these as two distinct SUV models, one smaller and one larger, both with all-wheel-drive options. It’s possible that one will effectively replace the Renegade, which stopped European production in 2025, but Jeep has not confirmed any specific model names yet.
Larger SUV Developed with Dongfeng
For the larger end of the lineup, Jeep is collaborating with Dongfeng Motor Company as part of Stellantis’s DPCA joint venture in China. This upcoming D-segment SUV will be produced in China and is expected to have electric or plug-in hybrid versions. Jeep will handle design and chassis tuning to ensure the SUV has its own character, distinct from other Dongfeng models. This move is part of a wider plan that includes additional Jeep and Peugeot vehicles created under this partnership.
Electric Recon to Join the Lineup
The Jeep Recon, already revealed for the North American market, will also be part of Jeep’s European portfolio in the future. It boasts a powerful 650 hp electric drivetrain with 840 Nm of torque, all-wheel drive, and off-road features such as Selec-Terrain and Trail Rated certification. Its estimated driving range is about 402 km (250 miles). The Recon also offers removable doors and windows, emphasizing its rugged, off-road nature. Jeep plans to expand Recon sales globally starting in late 2026, with European versions and availability to be announced separately.
This expanded lineup should give Jeep a broader presence across the competitive European SUV segments by the end of the decade.
