DS Automobiles Previews Future with Bold F3VER Concept Ahead of Paris Motor Show

DS Automobiles, the French premium brand under Stellantis, unveiled its new F3VER concept to showcase its vision for future electric vehicles. The design study, revealed ahead of the 2026 Paris Motor Show, signals DS’s ongoing efforts to establish a unique identity in the competitive premium compact segment.

A Compact but Striking New Design

The F3VER measures 4.19 meters long, 1.84 meters wide, and 1.46 meters tall, giving it a sporty, compact footprint. Its sculpted body with sharp lines and balanced proportions avoids the oversized look common in many modern SUVs. The front end features a bold vertical element with the DS emblem, surrounded by Y-shaped LED lights that lend a futuristic touch.

At the rear, the concept continues its distinctive lighting with a digitalised logo and 16 LED panels arranged on a lightweight magnesium frame inspired by Paris’s Grand Palais roof. This intricate lighting design creates a vibrant tunnel-like effect, aimed at making a lasting impression.

DS applied a special “Cosmic Blue” paint that shifts colors between blue and violet depending on lighting. The two-tone finish extends beyond the roof, wrapping around the rear to emphasize the car’s shape. Decorative details like champagne-colored elements on the wheels and customizable roof trims underline the focus on personalization.

Focus on Customization and Simplicity

More than just a concept to show off design, the F3VER explores how customization could become central to ownership. Its rear lights can reportedly display different animations, serving as a unique visual signature and a communication tool. This “light language” idea would let the car express personality and interact with its surroundings, though DS has not confirmed how much of this may reach production.

Under the surface, the F3VER employs what DS calls “Design Intelligence,” aiming to do more with fewer parts. It features integrated lighting units, single-piece bumpers, and fewer plastic add-ons, which could simplify manufacturing and improve aerodynamics if applied to future production models.

Practical Packaging with an Electric Future

Despite its dramatic appearance, the F3VER is designed for everyday practicality. With a 2.70-meter wheelbase, it promises a spacious cabin, and its 400-liter trunk offers cargo room typical of larger vehicles. DS markets the concept as combining city agility with comfort and versatility for longer trips and leisure activities.

DS confirms the F3VER is part of a new family of electric vehicles, aiming for class-leading range, though it has not provided powertrain details, battery size, or charging capabilities. This leaves the concept’s practical competitive edge uncertain compared to other electric superminis.

While the F3VER is not a confirmed production car, it clearly signals DS’s desire to move away from its Citroën roots toward a more distinctive design approach. Whether these futuristic ideas will translate into market-ready vehicles remains to be seen as DS continues developing its electric lineup under Stellantis.
