Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa has ruled out selling Maserati or breaking up the company’s European and American divisions. Speaking at the Paris Motor Show, he said Stellantis plans to keep Maserati as part of the group and will unveil a new strategy for the luxury brand in December.
Focus on Maserati’s Revival Within Stellantis
Despite recent drops in Maserati’s sales, Stellantis intends to address these issues as part of a broader company plan rather than selling the brand. The upcoming update will share details on how new models and investments fit into Maserati’s turnaround.
Filosa pointed out that Stellantis benefits from sharing technology across its 14 brands and markets. Developing powertrains and electronic systems at scale helps spread costs and maintain efficiency. Splitting the company geographically would damage this advantage.

Investment Priorities and Brand Roles
Not all brands receive equal investment at Stellantis. Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, Fiat, and the Pro One commercial vehicles will get larger shares of funding. Other brands, including Maserati, must have clear market roles with distinctive products to avoid internal competition.
Maserati’s future lineup will include two new E-segment models under the FaSTLAne 2030 plan, but details on how these will support the brand’s revival will emerge in December. Closer collaboration with Alfa Romeo is a possible path to lower development costs while keeping each brand’s character unique.

Factory Use and Partnerships to Support Growth
Filosa also mentioned Stellantis’ efforts to improve European factory capacity through partnerships. Working with companies like Leapmotor and Dongfeng allows Stellantis to share factories and gain expertise in electrification. This strategy aims to keep plants busy and more efficient.
Stellantis posted a €22.3 billion net loss in 2025, largely due to one-time charges from its strategic reset. However, Filosa says the group has returned to profitability through better execution and growth efforts.
With the Maserati sale off the table, all eyes will be on the December event in Modena for a clearer picture of the luxury brand’s next steps.
