Hyundai’s upcoming BAYON SUV is shaping up to be a big step forward in technology and design. Spy photos taken during recent road tests reveal a much more digital and connected interior, confirming that the second-generation BAYON will offer more than just a facelift. Positioned as a more affordable alternative to the KONA, the new BAYON is designed especially for the European market, aiming to compete strongly against Chinese rivals in the B-SUV segment.
A More Digital Cabin with Dual Screens
The spy images reveal that the cockpit will receive a full makeover. Unlike the current model, the 2027 BAYON will feature a dual-screen setup that includes a fully digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen for infotainment. This setup matches the style seen in the larger KONA and the popular TUCSON SUV. Additional interior upgrades include a redesigned climate control unit and an updated center console.
The BAYON will also grow slightly in size. The current model measures 4.18 meters in length, but the new generation will be a few centimeters longer. This change should bring a roomier cabin and a larger boot, improving overall practicality.

Sportier Look and Hybrid Powertrains
On the outside, the BAYON prototype shows signs of a sportier N Line trim. Key details like alloy wheels and a dual exhaust system suggest a more dynamic version will join the lineup. This is a new appearance trim for the BAYON, enhancing its appeal among buyers seeking sportier styling.
Under the hood, the BAYON will expand its engine options. The current range only offers traditional petrol engines, but the new model will introduce mild hybrid technology (48V MHEV). For the first time in this model, a self-charging hybrid (HEV) variant is expected, marking a significant move towards electrification.

Launch Timing and Outlook
Hyundai is actively testing the BAYON prototype in southern Europe as part of its development program. Provided there are no delays, the new BAYON should debut early next year and hit dealerships shortly after. This update is set to renew Hyundai’s presence in a competitive small SUV market with a more advanced, stylish, and electrified option.
