2027 Dodge Charger Adds Dark Red ‘Red Oxide’ Paint Across All Models

Dodge has introduced a new dark red paint called Red Oxide for the 2027 Charger lineup. This color, previously available on the Durango, will be offered on every Charger version, from the base R/T to the electric Daytona Scat Pack.

Red Oxide Paint Enhances the Charger’s Aggressive Look

The Red Oxide shade gives the Charger a deeper, more aggressive appearance. Its tone changes depending on the lighting, helping highlight the car’s muscular body lines. Unlike some special colors tied to particular trims or engines, Red Oxide can be chosen on any Charger model, leaving customers more freedom in personalizing their car.

Dodge CEO Matt McAlear said this approach aims to make it easier for buyers to express their personal style through factory options.

Color Choice Now Wider and More Inclusive

This new dark red joins other recent colors such as Purple Haze and brighter shades like Bludicrous, Green Machine, Redeye, and Sub-Zero. There are also more subtle options like White Knuckle and Diamond Black.

The Red Oxide paint was first shown on a Charger Scat Pack at the Woodward Dream Cruise, where Dodge also displayed a 600-hp Charger Super Bee and a Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak in Toxic Orange. These appearances highlighted Dodge’s wide range of factory colors, graphics, and appearance packages.

Available on All Engines and Body Styles

For 2027, every Charger comes with all-wheel drive and can be ordered as a two-door or four-door. The R/T version features a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six producing 420 hp, while the Scat Pack’s output rises to 550 hp. The Super Bee Launch Edition pumps out 600 hp, and the electric Daytona Scat Pack delivers 670 hp.

Red Oxide is offered at a $695 premium on all Charger models, giving customers a consistent price regardless of powertrain or trim. This fits Dodge’s growing focus on expanding factory customization, making premium options accessible beyond just high-end or limited editions.
