Range Rover is gearing up to refresh the 2027 Range Rover Sport with minor design tweaks and updated technology. Alongside this, the brand plans to launch an all-electric version before the end of the year, with sales set to start in early 2027. The combustion-engine model will follow with a facelift expected around mid-2027.
Light Changes and Revised Rear Design
New spy photos show a prototype testing at the Nürburgring circuit, featuring heavy camouflage on the front grille, headlights, and bumper to conceal details. Despite the masking, it is clear that the familiar grille shape will remain mostly unchanged, with only subtle updates to the grille mesh. The air intakes on the front bumper appear larger, suggesting a more aggressive look.
The headlights are expected to receive a refreshed, more modern light signature. The rear design sees clearer updates, including redesigned taillights with a new light graphic, a tweaked rear diffuser, and reshaped exhaust trims that stand out notably on the prototype. These exhaust details hint that this facelifted model could represent one of the sportier, more powerful trims in the lineup.
Focus on Performance and Interior Refinement
The facelift is said to enhance more than just the appearance. It will include revised suspension, braking, and steering setups to improve driving dynamics, especially on twisty roads and smooth asphalt surfaces. These changes aim to balance sportiness with luxury-level comfort.
Under the hood, the top-end model likely keeps the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, found in the current Autobiography trim, which delivers around 540 horsepower. This output matches the recently updated Land Rover Defender OCTA, which has been tuned to meet the Euro 7 emissions regulations while retaining 48-volt mild hybrid assistance.
Inside, anticipate upgraded materials and improved sound insulation. The infotainment system is also expected to be brought up to date with the latest technology standards, elevating the driving experience without drastic interior design changes.
Electric Variant to Launch First
Land Rover has already confirmed the all-electric Range Rover Sport will debut this year, with deliveries beginning early in 2027. The combustion model’s facelift will arrive later to avoid overlapping the electric launch. This phased approach reflects Land Rover’s gradual shift towards electrification while maintaining the appeal of traditional petrol engines for existing customers.
This facelift mainly refines the current generation’s design and tech, rather than introducing a fully new model. More detailed information and official confirmation are expected closer to the mid-2027 launch.
