Dodge has hinted at bringing back the Super Bee Charger as the headliner of its Sixpack lineup. The new model is expected to launch soon, just before the 11th Roadkill Nights powered by Dodge on August 7 in Pontiac, Michigan.
Super Bee Set to Lead Sixpack Chargers
The Super Bee originally launched in 1968 as Dodge’s affordable muscle car. Now, Dodge appears ready to revive the name as its top Sixpack Charger model. The Sixpack Chargers currently offer two power levels: 420 hp in the standard version and 550 hp in the high-output (H.O.) model. Dodge’s teaser hints that the new Super Bee will be more powerful than the existing 550 hp H.O. Charger, making it the most powerful Sixpack Charger yet.
While Dodge hasn’t confirmed exact power figures, the current SRT Hellcat Charger reaches 777 hp, and the new Super Bee may aim to challenge rivals like Ford’s Mustang Dark Horse SC, which has 795 hp. This suggests the new Super Bee could have a significant power boost.
Building on Dodge’s Muscle Heritage
The teaser video shared by Dodge features AI-generated bees swarming around a dragstrip’s drag racing Christmas Tree, a clear nod to the Super Bee branding and drag racing culture. This comes as Dodge continues to rebuild excitement around its performance lineup under new leadership, which includes Tim Kuniskis and CEO Antonio Filosa.
Alongside the upcoming Super Bee, Dodge recently launched the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee, a high-performance muscle truck with several V8 engine options, from the 395 hp 5.7-liter Hemi V8 up to the supercharged Hellcat V8 with 777 hp.
Roadkill Nights Event Adds New Racing Action
The Super Bee’s debut is timed to coincide with the 11th annual Roadkill Nights event, which will feature drag racing on Woodward Avenue and introduce a new road course shootout at the M1 Concourse, doubling racing opportunities. This marks an expansion of the event, which focuses on street-legal drag racing and performance festivals.
Fans can expect appearances from Dodge NHRA and Ram NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series stars. Tickets start at $25, with various package options available.
