Land Rover is preparing to introduce an all-electric version of the popular Range Rover Sport SUV. Set to debut later this year, the electric model shares much of its hardware with the bigger electric Range Rover and keeps the familiar look of the traditional combustion-engine version.
Design and Platform
The new Range Rover Sport Electric looks very similar to the gasoline and hybrid models. It features subtle changes like a closed-off grille and no exhaust pipes. The car uses Land Rover’s Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA), designed to support combustion, hybrid, and fully electric powertrains. This platform also underpins the larger Range Rover electric model.
Powertrain and Performance

Features and Technology
The vehicle will keep air suspension for a smooth ride and maintain its strong off-road abilities despite the electric drivetrain. It includes one-pedal driving mode usable even off-road, and rear-wheel steering to improve handling and reduce the turning radius. Inside, the cabin will mostly mirror the gas versions, likely featuring high-quality materials but a largely touchscreen-based control interface, which some buyers may find less appealing.
Market Position and What to Expect
The Range Rover Sport Electric will join the existing lineup rather than replace combustion or plug-in hybrid models. Pricing has not yet been announced but is expected to be higher than the regular versions due to its electric powertrain. The official debut is planned for late 2024 with full details to follow.
