Lancia Unveils New Gamma Fastback Crossover at 2026 Paris Motor Show

Lancia has returned to the international stage with the debut of the New Gamma, a fastback crossover that introduces a fresh flagship for the brand. Making its first public appearance at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, the New Gamma completes Lancia’s expanding lineup, which already includes the updated Ypsilon and a renewed focus on motorsport.

Three Powertrains Highlight Lancia’s “Eclectic Electric” Approach

The New Gamma offers three distinct powertrain options, reflecting Lancia’s new “Eclectic Electric” philosophy. A hybrid version features a 145 hp 1.2-litre engine and delivers a claimed range of up to 1,000 km without charging. Complementing this is a fully electric variant available in two power outputs: a 230 hp model with a range exceeding 540 km and a 245 hp Long Range version that reportedly achieves over 740 km. At the top sits the performance-oriented Gamma HF Integrale—a fully electric setup with 375 hp, dual-motor all-wheel drive, and a range of around 675–700 km.

This mix of drivetrains aims to offer versatility without sacrificing character, providing customers with choices that suit city driving, long trips, or sportier demands.

Italian Heritage and Modern Design Combined

Designed, developed, and built in Italy at the Stellantis Melfi plant, the New Gamma embraces a strong Italian identity the brand describes as “Made of Italy.” The model measures 4.67 metres long and features a 2.79-metre wheelbase, positioning it in the C-segment with a sleek fastback crossover style.

The design merges elegance and functionality with a drag coefficient of 0.25, helping efficiency and cabin quietness. Distinctive styling cues include the illuminated Lancia Calice grille and a T-shaped rear light signature that nod to Lancia’s history, such as the iconic “Veneziane” design from the 1970s Gamma.

Inside, Lancia focuses on comfort and an “Italian Home Feeling” that uses sustainable materials across more than 60% of interior surfaces. A 16-inch central touchscreen integrates climate, audio, and lighting controls through an advanced interface called S.A.L.A., designed for intuitive use.

Expanding Lineup Showcased at the Paris Motor Show

Alongside the New Gamma models on display—Hybrid, BEV, and HF Integrale—Lancia presented the Ypsilon HF and Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale. The latter marks Lancia’s comeback to the World Rally Championship (WRC), where the brand has already claimed the 2026 WRC2 Team title.

The broad showcase highlights Lancia’s dual focus on elegant everyday cars and high-performance motorsport vehicles. The New Gamma aims to balance urban practicality with long-distance comfort and sportiness, fitting into Lancia’s “Grace & Grit” philosophy. “Grace” stands for refined Italian style and comfort, while “Grit” represents performance and technological strength.

Orders Open Across Europe; Further Details to Follow

Lancia has officially opened orders for the New Gamma in European markets, signaling a significant step in the brand’s revival. In early 2027, Lancia plans a dedicated event to further reveal product strategy, future milestones, and deepen the brand’s renewed presence in both the automotive market and motorsport.

The New Gamma’s introduction reflects Lancia’s ambitious return to the C-segment and its effort to combine heritage with modern electric mobility—an approach that balances tradition with innovation.
