2026 Lancia Gamma Returns with Italian Style and Up to 740 km Electric Range

Lancia has brought back the Gamma nameplate at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, marking 50 years since the original flagship model debuted. The new Gamma is an Italian-built fastback crossover aiming at Europe’s competitive C-UV segment, combining sleek design with advanced electric and hybrid technology.

Modern Design Meets Aerodynamics

The 2026 Gamma is larger than the previous Lancia Ypsilon, measuring 4.67 meters long, 1.89 meters wide, and 1.63 meters tall. It adopts the sharp design language introduced by Lancia’s Pu+Ra HPE concept. Despite its sporty look, the Gamma boasts a low drag coefficient of 0.25 and rolling resistance of 4.7 kg per ton, showing that style and efficiency can go hand in hand.

Electric and Hybrid Powertrains on the STLA Medium Platform

The new Gamma uses Stellantis’ STLA Medium architecture and offers both electric and hybrid versions. The all-electric model reportedly delivers an impressive range of over 740 kilometers (460 miles) under WLTP standards. Meanwhile, the hybrid variant targets lower emissions, capping CO2 output at 120 g/km, which could appeal to fleet buyers and eco-conscious drivers alike.

Comfort and Technology Inside

Inside, the Gamma emphasizes comfort with what Lancia calls an “Italian Home Feeling” cabin. It features a 560-liter trunk and claims around 25% more rear legroom compared to an unspecified rival or previous model. The cockpit highlights two large displays, a 10-inch and a 16-inch touchscreen, running the SALA PRO system with different mood settings like Relax and Energize. There is also natural voice control and Level 2 autonomous driving support.

Sustainability is also a focus, with over 60% of the interior using recycled or eco-friendly materials. The total weight of these sustainable components exceeds 600 kilograms, all tested over 720,000 kilometers to ensure durability.

Performance Variant Revives the Gamma HF Integrale Name

For fans of Lancia’s sporty heritage, the Gamma HF Integrale returns as a high-performance crossover with standard all-wheel drive and adaptive suspension. It delivers 350 horsepower in normal use, rising to 375 horsepower when the battery stays above 90% charge. This boost lets the HF Integrale sprint to 62 mph in just 5.1 seconds. The model also offers a strong electric range of 676 kilometers.

This version aims to attract those wanting a practical yet powerful family or executive crossover that also carries the emotional appeal of Lancia’s past. The performance benefits do depend on maintaining a high battery charge.

The 2026 Lancia Gamma reintroduces a classic name alongside competitive electric range and modern tech, making it a noteworthy entry in Europe’s growing C-UV market. More details on pricing and market availability are expected closer to launch.
