Stellantis has revealed its European roadmap through 2030, confirming several upcoming Alfa Romeo projects, but surprising many by dropping the long-anticipated next-generation Giulia and Stelvio models. Instead, the Italian brand’s future focuses on other models and new directions.
Confirmed Alfa Romeo Projects Until 2030
The roadmap includes updates and fresh models for Alfa Romeo’s lineup:

- Junior facelift: The urban SUV will be refreshed by 2030 to maintain its appeal in Europe.
- New C-SUV: Set to replace the current Tonale, this model will use the STLA Medium platform and target mainstream European buyers.
- C-HB compact hatchback: Likely the new Giulietta successor, possibly built on the STLA One platform shared with the Peugeot 308. This will continue Alfa Romeo’s tradition in the compact segment.
- Bottega Fuoriserie project: A mysterious, possibly exclusive model that might be a tribute to the 33 Stradale as Alfa Romeo marks its 60th anniversary.
Giulia and Stelvio Replacements Removed from Plans
Unlike previous expectations where the next Giulia and Stelvio were only delayed, Stellantis’ new plan no longer lists these models at all. Instead, there is mention of a generic “new D segment (under consideration),” indicating that direct replacements for these key models may be indefinitely shelved or heavily rethought.

Possible Maserati Collaboration
Reports suggest Alfa Romeo may collaborate more with Maserati on future luxury models in the D and E segments. With Maserati working on new platform partnerships, Alfa Romeo’s next top-tier model could depend on decisions linked to Maserati’s strategy. The STLA Large platform apparently will focus more on North America, and the STLA One platform does not suit larger premium cars, pushing Alfa Romeo towards new development routes alongside Maserati.
Why This Matters
This roadmap signals a major shift for Alfa Romeo. Fans expecting refreshed Giulia and Stelvio models may face a wait or even permanent changes to these iconic names. Instead, Alfa Romeo is betting on a refreshed Junior, a new C-SUV, a new Giulietta-like compact, and a special edition project to define its near-term future. The brand’s strategy appears to be evolving towards collaboration with Maserati and exploring fresh market choices rather than following old patterns.
